Banke UNESCO celebrated its 35th General Assembly and Foundation Day with great enthusiasm
Nepalgunj। Banke UNESCO celebrated its 35th General Assembly and Foundation Day with great enthusiasm in Nepalganj at Hotel Galaxy Darbar. Opening session was chaired by Mr. Ravi Kumar Tuladhar the Chairperson of UNESCO Club whereas the Chief Guest was Mr. Haribansh Kirant the President of NAFUCAN. The distinguished guests were Mr. Kamruddin Rai the Deputy Mayor of Nepalganj Sub-metropolis, Mr. Dambar B.K. the Chairperson of Khajura Rural Municipality, Mr. Mohammad Raza Rai the Acting Chairperson of Janki Rural Municipality, Assistant Chief District Officer Mr. Lal Bahadur Gurung, Mr. Janak Upadhyaya the Deputy Superintendent of Armed Police Force, BUC’s Chief Patron and Founder Chairperson Mr. Parwej Ali Siddiqui, Former Chairperson of BUC Mr. Rajendra Chaudhary and Dr. Subhas Pandey the Chief of Bardiya Hospital.
The guests were Mr. Gobardhan Singh Samjhana the district President of Nepal Red Cross Society, Mr. Chadra Prasad Timilsina the President of NGO federation, Banke, Mr. Dinesh Prasad Shrestha the Chairperson of Radha Krishna Jansewa Kendra, Gulariya, Bardiya. Mr. Krishna Jung Shah the former President of GERUWA and NGO federation as well, Mr. Shiv Kumar Verma the Senior Vice President of BAAS Nepal, Social Activist Ms Kiran Acharya, Mr. Champa Singh Thapa Magar the Chairperson of Social Development Forum (SDF), Mr. Eknarayan Adhikari the President of Youth Network and Maulana Jabbar Manzari the Advisor of BUC.
The session was opened by lighting the lamp by the Chief Guest Mr. Haribansh Kirant. Thereafter Mr. Mahesh Nepali the Acting Executive Director of Banke UNESCO Club presented past and presents projects in detail and its achievements as well. The certificate of Appreciation was distributed by the distinguished guests to over 50 past projects employees for their outstanding performance and accomplishment of the project in a successful manner.
Similarly Best staff of the Year Award 2024 was distributed to Mr. Mahesh Nepali, Mr. Radhe Krishna Tharu, Ms Prajuna Shrestha and Mr. Sanjay Chaudhary with cash amount. Best Excellency Award Distributed to Mr. Bashant BC and Mr. Janak Chaudhary.
Youth Leaders Mr. Rhitik Shahi and Mohammad Salman Salmani were also distributed the certificate of appreciation for their commendable contribution in social works like campaigning against human trafficking, advocating for the rights of the children and raising awareness in the community against child marriage, drug abuse, gender-based violence and other harmful traditional practices.
The certificate of appreciation was also distributed to few distinguished personalities on the occasion for their admirable contribution in the society such as Mr. Gobardhan Singh Samjhana, the District President of Nepal Red Cross Society and his incessant support in providing relief to the affected during disaster, Ms Kiran Acharya a renowned teacher, Mr. Krishna Jung Shah of GERUWA Gramin dedicated to social works, Mr. Dinesh Prasad Shrestha the Chairperson of RKJS, Gulariya a social activist, Ms Biraj Singh a dedicated personality caring children with intellectual disability and Dr. Prakash Nag caring sick people.
Mr. Dambar Sunar the Chairperson of Khajura Rural Municipality highly appreciated to Banke UNESCO Club in his speech deliverance for its intervention through various projects implemented in Khajura Rural Municipality such as irrigation facility to the small farmers group and tractor facility, Toilet construction and drinking water facility in schools and community. Income generating supports to the poor and marginalized families through poultry farming, goat raising and vegetable farming to boost up average income.
Mr. Gobardhan Singh Samjhana the President of Nepal Red Cross Society said, “Banke UNESCO Club is a pioneering organization and its contribution in providing humanitarian relief during disaster is praiseworthy.” He expressed his view that such organization should have active and meaningful participation in contingency planning of District Disaster Management Committee of the district.
Mr. Krishna Jung Shah the Former Chairperson of Geruwa a civil society organization told emphasizing on to strengthen the relation between government and non-government organization in improving the lives of the marginalized and disadvantaged group of the society and responding disaster together.
Mr. Shiv Kumar Verma the Senior Vice President of BAAS Nepal also admired the social work of Banke UNESCO and assured to work together for local development through joint coordination, cooperation and collaboration.
Mr. Eknarayan Adhikari said that youths are the potential for the social change against social harmful practices and improved local governance. He assured for the collaboration to establish a society free from violence, discrimination and social injustice.
The Chief Guest Mr. Haribans Kirant the member of Nepal National Commission for UNESCO and Hon. President of National Federation UNESCO Clubs as well said, Banke UNESCO Club has completed its 35 years journey successfully and have recognition in the society for its commendable contribution in the field of education, health, livelihood, protection and humanitarian and thousands of needy people have been benefited during the period is praiseworthy.
Finally Mr. Ravi Kumar Tuladhar the Chairperson of the opening session thanked to all the guests for their graceful participation and showed his solidarity for their incessant support, cooperation and valuable suggestions provided in completing the 35 year long journey of Banke UNESCO successfully. Thereafter closed session started, and the General Assembly Program ended with 5 ward getting child marriage free along with other decisions.
