Farmer Dies After Monkey Attack in Nuwakot
Nuwakot— A tragic in cident unfolded in Kavilas, Nuwakot, where a local farmer lost his life following an attack by a troop of monkeys. The victim, 58-year-old Gokarna Nepali of Kotthok, Panchakanya Rural Municipality–2, was reportedly attacked while trying to chase monkeys away from his maize field early Wednesday morning.
According to Ward Chairperson Ramsharan Shrestha, more than a hundred monkeys suddenly attacked Nepali, leaving him unconscious. Locals rescued him and attempted to transport him to Kathmandu for treatment, but he died en route.
The monkeys had entered his property to eat maize, and the fatal attack occurred during his effort to drive them away. This incident has raised serious concerns about increasing human-wildlife conflict in the region.
